Well, it’s a new year and I still haven’t been sacked! Hurrah! Work started again on Wednesday, so I have only worked two and a half days since coming back after the break – hopefully this means I can keep this one short!
I spent a lot of my time in the mornings last week checking and proofreading referencing guides for a couple of the subject librarians. They each took longer than I had expected, but I guess that’s because I was being stupidly thorough. I am unashamed to say that I took far, far too much enjoyment in searching for grammar and punctuation mistakes.
The other thing worthy of note that I did was have a meeting with Kirsty, one of the subject librarians in our International Group, regarding our ‘welcome wordle’ – the welcome page on the international part of the library website, which has the word ‘welcome’ translated into lots of our students’ different languages. There had been problems with inaccuracy in the past that had been pointed out, as well as requests for more languages, so we sat down and made sure that the new words we added were definitely right!
Nothing else massively new and exciting to report. I finished writing my personal statement for my library school application over the holidays and plan to send that off later today. I went to the gym for the first time yesterday in about three years and am fairly sure I’m going to die. That’s about all, folks!
